What is the NZ Holidaycard
The Free NZ Holidaycard is simply a discount card which gives you access to all the discount listed on our website.
If the you buy the $10.00 prepaid callling credit NZ Holidaycard, it includes the discounts, $10.00 claling credit that can be used on any mobile or most landlines in New Zealand. Internet access and the first 30 minutes are included.
Can the card be replaced?
Unfortunately the card can not be replaced if it is stolen, damaged or lost.
What is the validity of the NZ Holidaycard?
The card is valid for the length of your stay in New Zealand to a maximum of 12 months.
I am travelling with friends do, all of us have to buy a card?
No you don't need to, as long as you understand that our operators can only extend their offer to the NZ Holidaycard holder. The card will show the holders name and validity and they could ask for formal identification.
However not all offers are exclusive to just one person.
Can I use the card in conjunction with any other discount offers?
No- The NZ Holidaycard may not be used in conjunction with any other promotional offers. We encourage our operators to make their offer exclusive to NZ Holidaycard but we can not guarantee this.
How secure is your creditcard payment?
Rest assured, we do not store any creditcard details on our system nor are we advised of your creditcard details. All our payments are processed through Paypal , using your Paypal account or your normal creditcard.
I am already an existing Vodafone customer, there is a Vodafone Network in New Zealand so I don't need another SIM.
It does not matter which mobile provider you are with prior to arriving in New Zealand. The fact is global roaming is very expensive from New Zealand. It might be in your benefit to swap your Vodafone Sim with a 2degreesmobile sim card and save a lot of money.
Example:
- Australia Vodafone Customer: depending on your plan, you can be charged $1.00 per minute plus your normal call charges. To send a text message you will be charged 75c. Check out the Australia Vodafone Website for their latest rates and compare with the 2degreesmobile rates.
- UK Vodafone Customers: Check out your roaming charges and compare with the 2degreesmobile rates.
If you prefer to stick with Vodafone, ask your current provider if your phone will accept another countries Vodafone SIM. Visit www.newzealandsimcard.com
2degrees charges: 9 cents per text, international calls 22c per minute to 22 countries. No charges for incoming calls or messages. Casual internet use is 50 c per MB or buy 100MB for $10.00.
Do I need to book a rentalcar before I arrive in New Zealand?
Believe it or not, but from time to time , all rental cars are fully booked in New Zealand. Especially over the summer season there is enoumous pressure on the rental car industry to meet the demand. So be sensible and book your car now. You will find a wide range of prices and these fluctuate with the seasons as well. Remember that you get what you pay for. So a $100.00 car is probably a late model car with low mileage from Avis, Hertz or Budget , while a $10.00 car will be road worthy but could be over 10 years old.

Do I need to book all my accommodation for my holiday in New Zealand?
This really depends on what type of traveller you are. If your itinerary is set day by day, you might as well book your accommodation , so you can stay in your preferred accommodation type. If you don't book ahead, especially in high season during the summer and winter months, you might be disappointed due to the lack of availability.
If you have a flexible itinerary, you might have the luxury of travelling a little further out of town to find something suitable.

Can I buy the NZ Holidaycard products in New Zealand?
No this is an online product only, this helps us to keep the product as cheap as it is , as we don't need to pay any commission to the retailer. If you are arriving within the next two weeks, we happily make the card available for you to pick up at your first nights accommodation, or rentalcar/motorhome depot. We still email you your allocated mobile number, so you can pass that on to your friends and family before you leave.

I travel reguarly to NZ, do I need to buy a new SIMcard each time?
No you don't. The SIMcard is generally active for 12 months from the last date of topping up your credit. So all you need to do is when your card is just about to expire, put more credit on your phone. This will keep it active for another 12 months. So when you arrive in NZ your SIM is already to go each time.
